How to Submit and Verify Your Eyeglasses Prescription
To get your new glasses into production as fast as possible, we strongly recommend providing a valid vision prescription while placing your order. Submitting your prescription during checkout allows our laboratory to begin custom-crafting your lenses immediately so we can ship them to you without delay.
How can I send in my prescription?
Whether you have your paperwork handy right now or need to submit it later, you can securely provide your prescription using the timelines below.
1. Submitting your prescription while placing an order
After you select your vision type while customizing your glasses, you will see a prompt asking, "How do you want to add your prescription?" Simply choose "Upload Image" to upload a digital copy, PDF, or photo directly from your computer or phone's saved files right before you complete your checkout.
2. Submitting your prescription after your order is placed
If you do not have your paperwork handy while placing your order, you can still confidently complete your purchase. However, please note that your order will be placed on hold and will not enter production until your prescription is received. You have two ways to submit it post-purchase:
- Via the Upload Portal: You do not need to create a customer account to do this. Simply visit our Prescription Upload Portal at any time, enter your order number and email used to place the order, and upload a photo or file to link it directly to your pending order.
- Via Email (By Request Only): If our laboratory notices your prescription is missing, we will proactively send you a reminder email. You can reply directly to that specific notification email with an attached clear photo of your prescription sheet.
⚠️ Document Quality: To prevent production delays, please make sure your uploaded image is completely legible and displays the prescribing eye doctor's full name. We accept JPG, PNG, and PDF formats.
Do eyeglasses prescriptions expire?
No, we do not enforce or check expiration dates on eyeglasses prescriptions. As long as you are personally satisfied with your current vision clarity and your doctor has not instructed you otherwise, we will gladly manufacture your glasses using the parameters you provide.
📌 Important for Contact Lens Wearers: This "no-expiration" policy applies strictly to eyeglasses. By law, contact lens prescriptions have separate, rigid expiration dates and distinct regulatory rules. If you are ordering contact lenses, an expired prescription cannot be accepted.
What is the strongest prescription you can fill?
Our state-of-the-art optical laboratory can accommodate exceptionally high power requirements. Our manufacturing boundaries are:
- Distance Vision Configurations: Up to -14.00 sphere (SPH)
- Near Vision Configurations: Up to +9.00 sphere (SPH)
How do I read my eyeglasses prescription?
If you want to verify your details against your physical paperwork before submitting, here is the text breakdown of a standard optical grid:
- OD (Oculus Dexter): Parameters explicitly for your Right Eye.
- OS (Oculus Sinister): Parameters explicitly for your Left Eye.
- SPH (Sphere): Indicates the core strength of your correction. Nearsightedness is indicated by a minus sign (-), while farsightedness features a plus sign (+).
- CYL (Cylinder) & AXIS: These two numbers work together to correct an astigmatism. They are a package deal - a CYL value always needs an AXIS value (a number between 1 and 180). Don't worry, though! Eye doctors naturally write both of these down together, so if you have an astigmatism, both numbers will already be sitting right next to each other on your paperwork.
- ADD (Addition): This represents the magnifying power required for close-up reading. This is a specific medical measurement provided by your eye doctor, not an optional feature or lens upgrade you can add on your own. An ADD value is required only if you are ordering progressive lenses or lined bifocals. If your doctor did not write an ADD value on your paperwork, you cannot purchase multifocal lenses.
