My New Glasses Feel Wrong or Look Blurry. What Should I Do?

A short adjustment period is perfectly normal when you get new glasses, especially if your prescription or frame shape changed.

If your vision does not improve after a few days, you are fully covered by our 60-Day Risk-Free Guarantee. You can easily return your glasses for a full refund, store credit, or a free exchange.

Give Your Eyes Time to Adjust

  • Single-Vision Lenses: It usually takes 2 to 3 days (and sometimes up to a week) for your eyes to get used to a new prescription or a new frame shape.
  • Progressive Lenses: It can take 3 to 14 days for your brain to adjust to the different vision zones. Tip: Point your nose directly at what you want to see, and avoid looking through the far side edges of the lenses.

Check These Common Causes

If you are still having trouble seeing clearly, check these common reasons:

  1. Office Progressives used for distance: Office progressives are designed only for reading and computer work (up to 5 feet away). They do not have a distance zone. Do not drive with them.
  2. You see a line in the lens: Bifocal lenses have a visible line. Progressive lenses do not. If you wanted glasses with no line, you can exchange your bifocals for progressives (Please note that an extra charge will be needed, because progressive lenses cost more than bifocals).
  3. The reading area feels "off" (Progressives): Gently lift the frame up a little, or let it sit a little lower on your nose. If the text becomes clear, the glasses just need a segment height adjustment. You can request this by setting up an exchange.
  4. Missing or wrong PD (Pupillary Distance): A wrong PD can cause eye strain or mild headaches. If you left the PD blank during checkout, we used the standard adult average of 62 mm. You can ask your eye doctor for your exact PD.
  5. The prescription was entered incorrectly: Compare the numbers on your order confirmation email with the paper prescription from your doctor.
  6. The frame sits wrong: If the glasses slide down, tilt, or pinch, they just need a quick physical adjustment to the temples or nose pads.

How to Fix It (Returns & Exchanges)

Whether your doctor changed your prescription, a mistake was made, or you just don't like the fit, we are here to make it right.

  1. Start a Return: Go to our Returns Portal, or open Live Chat and type "Start a return".
  2. Choose your resolution: Tell us what feels wrong and choose a refund, store credit, or a free exchange.
  3. New Prescription? If your doctor updated your prescription, upload a photo of the new paper. We will make you a brand new pair of glasses (Note: This counts as your one free exchange within the 60-day window).
  4. Lab Errors: If we made your glasses with the wrong prescription, we will make you a new pair for free.
  5. Return the original pair: To get your refund or replacement, you must send the original glasses back to us. Return shipping is completely free in the US using a prepaid USPS label or a Happy Returns QR code.
