Why Am I Seeing a Duplicate Charge? | Failed Order & Pending Bank Holds
If you notice an unexpected transaction or an apparent double charge on your bank statement after a checkout error, a layout glitch, or a card decline, please be assured that this is almost always a temporary authorization hold rather than an actual charge.
What is an authorization hold?
When you click "Place Order," your financial institution temporarily freezes the required funds to ensure they are available. If your connection drops or if there is a minor error in your billing details (such as an incorrect ZIP code), the checkout attempt will fail.
Even though we did not accept the payment, your bank will continue to display those frozen funds as "Pending" or "Processing" on your statement until their system updates.
How long does it take for the pending hold to disappear?
Because these holds are primarily driven by your bank or credit card company's internal security policies, they will usually drop off automatically on their own.
Credit Cards: Most major credit card issuers automatically release temporary authorization holds within 3 to 7 business days.
Debit Cards & International Cards: Depending on your financial institution, debit card holds may occasionally take up to 10 business days to clear and reflect back in your available balance.
📝 Note: While these holds drop off automatically, they can occasionally get stuck on certain accounts. If a pending hold is still showing on your statement after 3 business days, please feel free to reach out so our team can help you verify your account status.
Did my order go through? Next steps for your shopping cart
To determine if your payment attempt was successful, please verify your order status via your email inbox:
Scenario A: You received an Order Confirmation Email
Your order was processed successfully and is moving into production. If you see two transactions on your bank statement but only received one confirmation email, the second amount is a temporary hold that will drop off automatically.
Scenario B: You did NOT receive an email confirmation
The order failed completely and we have not collected any funds. The pending hold on your account will vanish automatically within a few days. Because the order did not process, your glasses are still waiting in your shopping cart and have not entered production. You will need to return to your cart and attempt the checkout process again to place your order.
